The International Veterinary Students’ Association is an international non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing veterinary students’ scientific training, international cooperation, and networking opportunities. Through its global network, IVSA promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience, collaboration among students and universities, and awareness of issues related to animal health and welfare, public health, and the One Health approach.

IVSA Thessaly’s activities include international student exchanges, scientific conferences, seminars and lectures, science communication and collaborative initiatives, as well as community outreach and awareness-raising activities focused on animal protection and responsible pet ownership.

Through international exchanges, students have the opportunity to become familiar with different veterinary education systems and professional practices, visit university facilities and veterinary institutions, and establish collaborations with fellow students from other countries. At the same time, these activities help strengthen the international outreach and visibility of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Thessaly.

IVSA Greece’s achievement of first place in the global Top MO 2026 ranking, with the participation of IVSA Thessaly, highlights the dynamism of the student community at the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Thessaly.
