The establishment and operation of the Medical Degree English Program of the University of Thessaly is a fact, and its first academic year will be accompanied by the presence of 48 students from foreign countries who have chosen Larissa and Greece as the first important intermediate stop in the exciting journey of knowledge.
“Polite and friendly, they came to meet me with great impatience and anticipation with a gift box of sweets from the desert near Dubai. After exams, their son, Ahmed Sahil, was accepted into the Medical Degree English Program of the Faculty of Medicine and will be one of our 48 new students starting their studies on the 7th of October. Ahmed’s dream is to become an eminent surgeon. When I asked them why they chose Larissa, I got a disarming answer. We learned that the medical education program is one of the best in the country, that the city has no crime, and that the students like life. Our son wants to study medicine in the city where Hippocrates grew up, and he chose Greece because the Greeks are hospitable, pleasant and the food is perfect“. The above was announced by the professor of Medicine and Autoimmune Diseases at the Medical School of the University of Thessaly, Prof. Dimitris Bogdanos, the Director of the Medical Degree English Program at the University of Thessaly.
Prof Bogdanos also mentioned Builent Kutluay, who was in Larissa for six weeks during the summer as a visitor and worked at the Pharmacology Laboratory under the supervision of Prof Dimas, the laboratory’s Professor and Director. Builent’s dream is to become a distinguished hematologist.
“Dreams of young people from the farthest corners of the earth, all with the potential to be realized, with Larissa serving as an intermediate station. Extroversion is not taught but rather cultivated through the diligent and ongoing efforts of a department striving for excellence.”, concluded Prof. Bogdanos.
